We all have some idea about the Gradient Effect. In short, Gradient Backgrounds use two colors as its background. Previously you could use the Gradient Effect for your WordPress content by using dedicated plugins or doing a ton of CSS Guesswork. But those days are long over as now you can create Gradient Overlay easily in Elementor. With Elementor, you can add Gradient Effect to your WordPress content by simply adjusting some bars and tweaking some toggles.

Gradient Overlay in Elementor

Gradient has somewhat become a trend in Web-Design. One of the most popular users of Gradient is Instagram. They recently revamped their logo which uses a wide variety of colors fused together using the Gradient effect. But Instagram is a big company, they probably hired another big company to get their new logo done using fancy software. So does it mean you, as an aspiring WordPress Blogger, cannot add the Gradient Effect for your content without spending tons of money? Of course, you can.

With Elementor you can add the Gradient Effect all by yourself and without any coding. Now you might be wondering how you can do that? In short, the Gradient Effect does not come as a separate Element in Elementor, rather it comes as a Styling Option for Sections, Columns and Elements. Also, to add the cherry on top, you get to play around with the Gradient Effect in the most Visual way possible.

Add Gradient To A Section

Now you can use the background gradient for any Elementor Section. First, you select your primary and secondary colors, and the location each one inhabits (from 0 to 100 percent), and that’s it.

With Background Gradient, you can easily control the location, angle and colors of the gradient effect, as well as set it as linear or radial.

Inside the Elementor Interface navigate to Edit Section>>Background. Now for the Normal state of the Section, select Gradient as the Background Type. First, specify the two colors for the Background. The only criteria for selecting the colors is, they should have a clear color contrast.

After you specify the colors, it’s time to select the style. You can either pick the Linear or Radial Style for the Background. If you pick the Linear Style you will have to specify the angle at which the two colors will collide. On the other hand, if you pick the Radial style, you will have to pick a position for the origin of the Radiance.

Also, you can use the Gradient Style for Columns as well. The Customization Options are same as the ones you had for setting Gradient for a Section. First, navigate to Edit Section>>Background and select Gradient as the Background Type.

In case you are wondering how you can position a Column like the way you see in the above image, you have to adjust the Padding and Margin for the Section and Column.

Gradient Over Images

You can also add the Gradient Effect over Images. First, navigate to Edit Section>>Background and select Classic as the Background Type. After you have uploaded your image navigate to the next Tab Background Overlay and select Gradient.

By now you might have already guessed that you can use the Gradient Effect over Videos as well. First select Video for the Background Type. Then paste the link to the YouTube Video you want to use as your Background and move on to the Background Overlay Tab and select Gradient.

Now if you are using the Gradient Effect over an Image or Video you get the option of Blending them together. From the Blend Mode option, you can pick Saturation, Lighten, Darken, Color Dodge or any of the other available options.
